Our planet is in great danger. For the last one hundred or so years, the people of earth have wasted and misused the natural recourses of earth. Several plans have been developed to stop the abuse of earth. Before 500 A.D., man had a good relationship with Mother Earth. But since humans developed cities and industries, the modern lifestyle has changed.
Man has been using and misusing natural resources up to the limit. We may not be aware but all the things we do have an impact on the environment. When we travel from one place to another by plane we consume energy which affects the environment. There are many ways through which we all can contribute in the protection and conservation of species and keeping the earth clean. We should also try to lessen the use of natural resources so that there will be enough resources for the coming generation as well. Once we throw empty bottles of water and other garbage on the streets we pollute our environment. When we neglect to turn off the lights and other appliances we consume energy which also affects the environment. A compost bin may be set up in your yard. Compost bins return plant and some food materials to the soil through decomposition so it can be used as a natural soil additive, called compost. Compost improves soil texture, increases the ability of soil to absorb oxygen and water. Compost also suppresses weed growth and reduces the need to add chemicals and pesticides to plants, which may be harmful to the environment. Global warming and unpredictable shifts in climate are global problems. They affect every creature on Earth, and are caused by human actions all over the world. It will take global action by governments, on a war footing, to change the habits and beliefs and technologies that cause civilizations to emit greenhouse gases.
World Earth Day is celebrated all over the world annually on 22nd April. It was first launched by honest efforts of the US senator Gaylord Nelson on April 22, 1970 from Wisconsin along with Denis Hayes as the main organizer of the activities for the grand event.
It is really heartening to know that even at the commencement of the Earth Day; approximately twenty million demonstrators of America participated in the opening of the wonderful celebration of Earth Day with the main goal to find ways for making the earth clean, healthy and sustainable. Since then, various countries have followed this as a part of main celebrations across the globe.
So, let's get together and save the Earth!
