There is a very well known saying that 'Education begins at home'. But no one can deny that the seeds of education are nurtured at school because educational institutions are the true seats of learning. A student can learn and develop healthy habits only in a good school. I study in one of the best Higher Secondary Public Schools of Delhi. It is so near to my house that I can easily walk to my school everyday.
It has a double storied stone building, a large play ground, a library and all other facilities a good school should have. At the entrance of my school there is a small garden. There are neatly planned small flower beds which are full of beautiful flowers in almost all the seasons. Every morning the gardener waters the plants. The road circles the garden and leads to the offices. There is a large reception hall where notice boards are hung. This is where all the important information for the students and the activities of the school is put up. Then there is the Principal's office, the staff room and other office room. These are well furnished. The parents of the students cannot go beyond these offices. The main school building has fifty four rooms. The rooms are well ventilated and airy. Each room has a blackboard and furniture for students and teachers. The school has twelve classes and each is divided into four sections. There are more than 1500 students in the school and sixty members of the staff.
The Principal of my school is a strict disciplinarian. He is always punctual and expects the teachers and students to be the same. He is a fine speaker and addresses the daily morning assembly. He is popular among the staff and students and very well respected. The staff is capable and efficient. The teachers are very helpful and follow an interesting method of teaching. The school's office is maintained by a hard working clerk and cashier. The students are always in their neat uniforms and special attentions is paid to behaviour, cleanliness and punctuality of the students.
There are two large rooms which are used as the science labs. They are very well equipped. The students use these labs in their practical periods and do experiments under the able guidance of their teachers. My school also has a big library which has a good stock of books. There are all kinds of books for the students. Some of the books are very interesting and they increase our knowledge.
Our librarian is very helpful and kind.
I love my school. It has given me so much and I am proud to be a student of his school.
